Past lsu game discussion on wwl

The band director was in wwl telling a story about a game a few years back with a substantial rain delay where Espn told the band due to time, they couldn't preform pre game. The coach caught wind of this and said the team wouldn't take the field unless the band did pregame. He didn't give the coach or the game.
Was this Oregon st v lsu in 2004 he was referencing? Just curious. Thanks

I don't know what game that was but if I recall the band performed pregame before that crazy as storm blew in before the Oregon st game.

i don't think that's true at all. Saban is intently aware of the effect the pageantry aspect of the games have on the players as well as the crowd (which in turn can influence the players on both teams). The guy is a detail freak of the highest order.

Ponchy is right. That storm came through after the band had played. I remember borne saying "chance of rain...." And the crowd went apeshit. It was nuts before that game with the championship flag being raised in a downpour.

I remember that one because I was in the front row in the student section with my back turned so it was hitting against the rain. It poured all throughout warm-ups.
