I would sign the petition, it would get passed, and I would still be at work on opening day

I thought about signing up, then I realized I don't want the wife & kid home when I'm watching the games. I'll just keep taking the day off.

Usually it would be on Spring Break when I was a student in grade school/college, but it was not during spring break in 2003, 2005 and 2008.

In 2003 and 2005 I was in high school and was "sick" those days, and in 2008 I was in college and skipped class, though only on Thursday since Friday was Good Friday and we were off anyway.

Think you got one of your dates wrong, in 2008 the season started after Easter. Easter was really early that year.
