Strief has been unavailable this week due to a commitment at a function in Cincinnati. The 30-year-old reportedly would be interested in talking with Miami but prefers to re-sign with New Orleans. The Saints may not be able to squeeze Strief under the cap. He's a finesse blocker who excels in pass protection.

Strief has laid down some roots here. From everything I've heard, he REALLY wants to stay, and if offered even a remotely similar contract would stay.

Just depends on if we can make the numbers work. I think we do.

frick. At least it's reiterated that he would prefer to stay here. Hopefully Miami doesn't over pay.

If he goes, does his wife stay?

Thought they were divorced or getting divorced? She is hot though.

Anyway, Dolphins are bringing in an OG from the Rams today and are expected to sign him. Shelley. I know that's not a RT but maybe they will start to cool down on signings.

We should offer to make him an eligible receiver again.

Maybe this time he won't drop the TD pass.

If we can keep Strief it makes the OL situation look less tenuous. Still need to be addressed, but at least we'd have a majority core intact.

Guys, our OL last season was really rather good, minus Brown.

With Armstead, we had one of the top OL's in the league.
Or near it anyway.

There are many reasons why Brees was sacked so much, not just pass protection issues.

So you agree keeping Strief would be a positive?

Absolutely.

I'm just adding extra information, getting the most out of every post.

It was mostly Brown. Brees rarely had more than 2 seconds when Evans was hurt. Then maybe 3 when he got healthy. After Armstead came out for the second half of the Panthers game and from then on he had at least 4-5 seconds quite often.

Brown was just that bad and that's why I wanted to draft someone last year (like I was annoying with it to the level Breesus is being about Jimmy).
