My kids have a long weekend off and the wife wanted some warmer weather. SO, on a whim I checked the Tiger's schedule and low and behold...they're playing in Nashville this weekend! BONUS!

Any recommendations on Nashville (kids are 9,11,13)????

I hear there is a pretty big baseball series this weekend somewhere up there.

They are available online...thinking I'll wait to get them at the stadium...might be able to get some better seats...they only have seating behind the outfield fence online.

I have a convention there, but it's next weekend.

Dollywood is not too far.

I went to Husk whenever I was in Nashville last Thanksgiving. My cousin went to high school with the owner

Place has amazing food and great drinks. I can't remember how pricey it is, but it's a great atmosphere.

Don't bother with BBQ here. Middle Tennessee doesn't understand BBQ in the same way that Louisiana doesn't understand BBQ. The first time I ordered a pulled pork BBQ sandwich here in '05, they asked me if I wanted mayo and a pickle on it. Good grief!

i disagree. its definitely different - TN is pork and vinegar/slaw on cornbread. but you get to liking it.

Jacks is solid to get your brisket fix. There are 2 or 3 other good beef BBQ places but yes, the preponderance of BBQ joints do the pork/slaw sandwiches or on 'pancake' cornbread.

its good..just different if you're not used to it.

If they're playing, don't miss a Nashville Predators (NHL) ice hockey game. Awesome arena in downtown Nashville.

Yup

There's a place called Whitt's BBQ that we always get when we go up there. Not the best place, but that's what my dad and uncles always had when they were growing up.

Warning....piss on your way into stadium...no restrooms except next door at football stadium. Great viewing venue but amenities suck big time...typical Vanderbilt.

If you sit in outfield, no concessions or restrooms.

Be prepared for singing "Sweet Caroline" and lots of nerdy students.

Just hoping Chris Guillot does not make the game.

i hope he's there. the year maneiri was hired, the Vandy PA announcer mid-game said "trivia: how many coaches turned the lsu baseball job down before they found someone?"

chris climbed up the stairs & got all up in the announcer's face saying that was uncalled for

I don't know where you have been eating. I have had some tremendous BBQ in Nashville and Franklin.

If you can't track down tickets, go to the top of the parking garage across from the baseball and tennis facilities.
