So I asked about chairbacks on the SECR...[crickets]
Posted by TigersOfGeauxld on 3/12/14 at 9:04 pm00
Wonder why?
10, 20, 30, More...What percent of your football stadium's seats are chairbacks?
Including premium seating...
1. 10 percent
2. 20 percent
3. 30 percent
4. More
LSU: More. Over 30 percent easily. In fact, just over 34% of Tiger Stadium's projected 2014 capacity will be chairbacked seating of all types.
All the gold or purple colored seats in the following pics are chairbacks. Bleachers are plain aluminum.
I'm certain Tiger Stadium has by far the largest percentage of chairbacks. Just curious as to which stadium has the next highest percentage. My guess would be Arkansas' Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

Good question. Were those picks taken before or after halftime?

I actually expected that question. It's pre-game.

quote:During halftime. No incentive what-so-ever to stay in your seat and watch that uninspired GBFTL snoozefest everyweek. Not the kids fault though. They can only perform what they're given to perform. They need to leave King over in Ireland and let the chief assistant take over that rapidly declining program. Couldn't get any worse. (I'm talking about halftime shows)
Were those picks taken before or after halftime?

About a week ago, somebody posted a 360° panorama of Tiger Stadium, and all those chairbacks in the lower bowl were gone. Was that a cleaning/painting/waterproofing deal
, or are they being replaced, or eliminated?

They are taking out all of the seating in the east, north and west sections in order to treat the concrete. Then they are replacing or re-installing each seat. It's a $1.6 million project.
quote:
At Tiger Stadium, bleachers in the east, north and west sections of the lower bowl have deteriorated and will either be replaced or reinstalled depending on their condition, David said. The south section will not be treated because maintenance was done two years ago. The process starts with the removal of all bleachers in the aforementioned areas, David said. The concrete where the bleachers were removed will then be cleaned and waterproofed. David said waterproofing involves application of a topical coating to the concrete. The replacement or reinstallation of the bleachers will complete the project, making for sturdier seating on gamedays while protecting the concrete structure of the stadium for long-term use. These precautions will be complete before the first home game of the coming season on Sept. 6, David said. They will amount to $1.6 million.
The Daily Reveille
I'm sure it will look awesome before the home opener.

Had a UT fan hate on the thread. Told him there is no stadium I'd more like to see them in...
...and you can see why.
