About to start a job, and I get reimbursed for certain expenses. To make it easier, I'd like open a CC for this purpose, that way I can keep better track of everything.

I was thinking about applying for a Discover It card. Is that good one? Is there a better one?

Discover it is a great card but you likely won't be maximizing points depending on what you purchase.

A lot of places don't take discover. I would stick with a Visa or Mastercard for this

Credit score? What will you be using it for? Travel? Domestic/International? Paying it off every month? What will they reimburse?

I'll be using it predominantly for gas, probably office supplies on occasion, and other miscellaneous expenses. Will be paying it off every month. No travel, local within my area.

First card, so I'll probably get my dad to co-sign for me.

Capital One Venture Card. Double miles on every purchase. $59 annual fee, but I'm sure you can get reimbursed for that too

I was in the same situation. New job that involves travel and decent amount of gas expense. Chase Freedom does 5% back on gas 6 months out of the year and 1% back on everything else year around. Only had the card for about 7 months and have racked up a decent amount of points. No annual fees either as my company would not reimburse for personal credit card fees.

Chase Freedom. If circumstances change later (travel etc) then examine it again. But for that, Chase Freedom.

ChaseFreedom is a great card to have. I racked up like around $500 cash back, used some of it to purchase my costas and christmas presents. Still have some left over.

Discover IT is also good cause it shows you your FICO credit score on each statement. Which is a cool feature I think
