WARNING: THIS THREAD WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS. IF YOU WANT YOUR FIRST PLAYTHROUGH TO BE SPOILER-FREE AS POSSIBLE, DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER.

Some things I've learned:

The warrior's starting shield is shite. The warrior's starting "sword" is practically useless. I do not recommend picking the warrior.

Don't piss off the dog things at the beginning of the game.

Stay away from the demon piglets in Majula.

The big white ogre thing next to the shack at the beginning of the game is guarding a useful ring.

The coffin that the big white ogre things are guarding in the tutorial changes your gender.

DO NOT JOIN THE COVENANT OF CHAMPIONS. It increases the difficulty of the game.

holy shite, didn't realize that was what happened due to wearing my armor.

my mighty warrior has inadvertently sprouted lady parts.

Yeah, I was wondering what happened to my beard as well!! But yeah.... it's a sex change coffin. Why wouldn't that be in a Dark Souls game?

Also, does anyone know who that silver knight was that dropped from the eagle and to never be seen again after he kills you?

The Pursuer. He's a boss in the FoFG.

I just had a pretty funny moment in FotG.

I had backed one of those dickhead hollow pikemen into a corner alongside a big stack of barrels. He was being strangely defensive. I decided to strike against his shield to shake him up a bit.

Turns out all those barrels were explosive. My sword strikes one...

BOOM. He's dead, I'm severely wounded, and a chunk of the wall is missing. I have just accidently opened up a shortcut to a bonfire room.

Wish I had a DVR for that shite.

Parry him and use ballista. It's a classic Fromsoft boss troll.

The mace you can find on the path to Majula is pretty good if you have the strength the use it.

I still have no idea where this mace is that people keep talking about. Next to the bonfire? I see nothing but water.

its not next to the bonfire at all...really

Go back the path you came to initially enter Majula look on your left over the cliffs the whole way, you should see an area to drop down.

Okay, it seems like there a few spots like that. I remember seeing a lot of messages on the ground from players telling them to "try jumping" or something, with a bunch of bloodstains of people leaping to their deaths. I just assume now that all messages on the ground are people being dicks. I'll try to find this elusive mace this evening, although I doubt it's better than my broadsword +3, or fire sword. But bleed is always nice.

Also picked up a bastard sword from one of the enemy drops. I may test it out against the common enemies in FotFG

Just got the ring of binding yesterday which is clutch. Gives you 75% more health or something like that, so it negates some of your health loss from dying.

I don't think it is.

Yeah, I need to go get that. But I took one look at that big knight, and said nope.

I'm not sure. I'm going to try tonight to get that ring before I begin round 2 with the pursuer a-hole.

The Ring of Binding is in the chest in front of the Cathedral of Blue.
