Got in a wreck last week and totaled my car (not my fault). What sucks is that my car was paid off and only had 90k miles on it. I was planning on running that thing into the ground...

Anyway, Looking for purchase a used car in the 15k-22k range and wanted to know what vehicles the OT has had in the past that they would/wouldnt recommend?

I'm looking at a small SUV (pilot, highlander, Murano, Terrain) or smaller truck (frontier, Tacoma)

TIA

In the same boat. Looking to replace a tundra that had 187000 miles on it.

I had actually thought that morning, I wonder if i'll make it to 200k...

Short answer, no.

Didn't like the way they drove. I bet it's a solid vehicle though.

I had an Infiniti QX4 for a little while. I really liked it. Pretty nice on the inside and relatively cheap to maintain at indie shops.

Of your list the only one to avoid is the Terrain. I think the Tacoma & Highlander are the two best bets.

Any front wheel drive suv/crossover should be out of the question.

Buy a copy of the annual car issue of Consumer Reports. It'll tell you everything you ever needed to know. It's the April issue so it should be on the newsstands now.

Jeep Grand Cherokee

156,000 trouble free miles out of my 2006- the A/C went out at the end of last summer, but that's the first "major" repair I'll make- replaced 2 bulbs, the clock spring in the steering wheel and the water pump.

Highlander is the way to go, bud. Pilot is okay too.
