Could I borrow someone else's to make a call back, or do I have to find a pay phone?

It would have to be life changing money.

For example, enough money for me to buy a nice house cash and not have that note to worry about would be life changing money.

Pay off house. I would just let my wife take all the calls. Just use a tablet everywhere. Internet texting.

Millions.

You won't be able to function in this world, and therefore your income and quality of life will suffer.

I'd do it for free, and I am an IT professional.

A shite ton. Too much of my life relies on it especially since I'm in school a ways away from home.

I can't picture a scenario where I would do it. It would have to be so much money I could retire, but if I were retired I'd be bored and if I'm bored I'd want to play on my phone.

A bit surprised by the responses. I thought more people than me couldn't stand having their smart phone.

I like having this miracle of technology at my fingertips.

I'm thinking like $50,000. This assumes we will have some new technology in 5-7 years that will easily be able to substitute for the loss of my phone.

Assuming current technology for the rest of my life.. I would probably need $500k or more.

If I could retain my computer, and run a home phone line, I would love to accept any amount of money that would be justifiable. No problem.

I would pay someone to get rid of email on my phone. There's nothing like answering work emails while sitting at happy hour. Plus everyone knows you have constant access to email so they get pissy if you don't respond even if it's after hours.

People love to say they hate their cell phones.. but in reality they are as much apart of our lives as food and water. They are one of the greatest inventions in the history of mankind.. and have completely revolutionized the way we communicate.

Life would be completely different without one.

Yeah I'm thinking that before I die they will be able to just put a microchip directly in your brain.

That's when I give up & join the gold & ammo hoarders from the outdoor board.
