In just two offseasons the saints have gone from having two of the worst cover safeties in the nfl (Harper and Jenkins), to having quite possibly the best/most talented safety tandem (Kenny V and Byrd) in the history of the who nation!

Agree or disagree?

Oh and Loomis... talk about addressing needs

I don't think this calls for an agree or disagree situation. Just plain facts son

It's about time we clean house on D!!

I just think we got tied down with too many aging/ bad defensive players. Smith, vilma, Harper, Jenkins... It seems like those guys stuck around a few years longer than they needed to

Was going to start similar thread

Harper/Jenkins to Vaccaro/Bryd in a matter of days.

I never would have thought it possible as I have bitched about H/J for the last two years. I will miss them as former Saints and great locker room guys but good lord I will not miss the whiffs.

Our pass rush is going to make these guys look better and their coverages are going to up the D-lines sack totals. We are still young at safety and combined the saleries for V/B are excellent moving forward.

When does practice start?

I still can't believe we pulled this off. What a signing!! I even contemplated about jumping on this board at my home last night to talk it up, but waited til this AM. Vacarro, if he can stay healthy now, and Byrd will no doubt be the best Safety combo in the league. I'll take them over Thomas/Chancellor any day of the week. This move solidifies our back end and if we can get 1 shutdown corner, either in FA or most likely the draft, our secondary will be set for a while to come.

Great now we have a great D and the offense still need vast improvements. I guess we are shifting philosophy for when Drew leaves.
