The Pittsburgh Steelers will release linebacker LaMarr Woodley when the new league year begins Tuesday, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Woodley, the highest-paid defensive player in Steelers history, will be designated as a post-June 1 salary cap casualty and will be available to sign with another team starting at 4 p.m. ET Tuesday, according to the source.

Not really a surprise considering his past few years dealing with injury issues, but he was one of the best pass rushers in the league (of course that 4 year span was with James Harrison in his prime on the other side).

Wonder where he signs.

Before the start of last year, it was apparent that it would ultimately be he or Worilds. Worilds is cheaper, younger, and he lived in the backfield this year. Gonna be a young and promising lb crew this season in Pitt.
