Chinese Americans in the U.S. State of California have started petitions for the veto of a state senate bill which will restrict Asians in school admission and employment. On Jan. 30, California Senate passed SCA-5, a legislation that would repeal portions of California Proposition 209 and allow the state to use race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin as a consideration for accepting students or hiring employees.
The bill was introduced by State Senator Ed Hernandez who claimed that fewer under-represented minority students are admitted in state universities as a result of Proposition 209. A petition has started at the White House website which says that California's SCA-5 is against the "equal protection" clause of the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. The petition needs 100,000 signatures by March 18 to make the White House take any action. Asian American organizations are encouraging Asians to sign it as a way to voice concerns of millions of Asians in the United States. Another petition at the www.change.org website has started at the state level, calling for the California State Assembly to veto the bill.
If the bill passes the State Assembly, it could be an issue for Californian voters to decide in the coming election. Xudong Sun, president of American Anhui Association of Scholars and Students, told Xinhua that this legislation is racial and is a serious discrimination against Asian Americans. He said right now at the University of California and state universities, Asian students account for 36 percent, but Bill SCA-5 would restrict Asians to 13 percent. He said under-represented minority groups, like African Americans and Hispanics need protection, but such protection should not be made at the expense of Asian Americans.

Let's just cut California off the map...

It's like reverse Affirmative Action. So, you are academically superior to your peers? Great! Oh wait, you are Asian, we have too many of those already. Maybe you should identify as an Inuit.

Arizonians should boycott California.

If this doesn't prove the underlying racism of the left, I don't know what will.
Basically they are saying a minority group is too successful, and are passing legislation to inhibit their success in order to be equal to other minority groups that aren't as successful. Just fricking wow.

I'm waiting for one of the libtards who was against the Arizona bill allowing discrimination in private businesses to come in and defend this state sponsored discrimination.

It's the Dem calling card. Always has been. Always will be.

Assuming this guy is of Mexican heritage this wouldn't surprise me, given how xenophobic the Mexican constitution is (which is a clear reflection of it's citizens).

If some sort of miracle occurred and somehow, blacks in california were the high achievers, odd that the Cali legislature would ever consider this for black students?

If black people were the high achievers, they would find a new group to victimize. Successful groups have no worth and become part of the "them" that needs to be contained.

It's one thing for the bill to be proposed. I can let that slide because it's one person.
But the Democratically held California Senate passed the bill. That's the issue here

I can guarantee you that if EVER we look up one day and Blacks have more slots in college/employment etc than their population percent as a whole and someone proposes eliminating Affirmative Action for blacks, the left would shite star shaped frisbees.

This is like a modern Chinese Exclusion Act. Just terrible.

If the majority of the black population were high achievers, the would have higher income levels and economic power as a group and would likely move more right. The left would then need to find another group to hold hostage for votes. The black population is actually pretty small. There could be much larger targets.

Blacks are fleeing California.
