With Gorilla ball dead for a good while now, when we need speed on the basepaths the most, we don't have it.

How have we gotten to the point where no one on the team is fast enough to steal bases?

Still doesn't mean we have anyone that is a consistent threat on the base paths

Just like a couple of good hits in the 7th and 8th doesn't mean we all the sudden know how to not lead the NCAA in lazy popups this year.

typical rantard shite. Instead of enjoying and celebrating a win, let's nitpick to find something to criticize and look like an idiot doing it. Bravo sir

The lack of stolen bases has absolutely nothing to do with the amount of speed on the team. This is probably one of the fastest teams Mainieri has had here and they've been recruiting specifically for it.

Lol what an ignorant post. Laird and Stevenson are maybe the two fastest guys in the conference. Bregman might have the best base stealing instincts in the conference. The bench is loaded with speedy guys. The only positions without base stealing threats are the ones you expect, corner infield and catcher.

Jared Mitchell was a tier 1 base-stealer. Mahtook was a better base-stealer than anyone on current team.

You do realize you're talking about two first round picks, right?

Mainieri doesn't like to straight steal. He gives one or two people per year the green light, but he would much rather hit and run or bunt. That's why there isn't a lot of stolen bases. It has nothing to do with not recruiting speed.

Meh. I had 43 in 2008. Last year, those guys were freshmen and somewhat limited playing time for Stevenson, the fastest.
