I was excited to hear about its opening and success until someone on here mentioned a key employee left, but I still figured I would give it a shot.

I am very glad I did. He left them in good hands.

The service was excellent, friendly staff, and the place was pretty packed (kind of small). I ordered a club sandwich and added cheese (thought most clubs came with swiss), truffles, and a half-and-half tea. I just mentioned the bacon cookies looked good and a staff member gave me one.

The club was good sized, and the bacon and turkey were great. The truffles were about what you'd expect; good but still truffles. The bacon cookie was awesome, first time eating a cookie with bacon I usually just drink unsweet tea, but mixed it with sweet this time and was very good. only complaint was that the cups are pretty small.

I will be back very soon. If you haven't given it a try, you really should.

I have been twice, once before the change of ownership and once last week. Both times were very good and I will continue to stop in on occasion to eat.

I've been by 3 times, before and after the ownership changes. I haven't noticed a difference in quality or service. It's just as good as it ever was. And it seems like they have more cured meat items for sale at the butcher counter than in the early days

Yeah my only real complaint was that the cups are really small and I had to pay extra to add cheese to my club sandwich. Everything else was excellent

I definitely enjoyed the food there but I thought it was a little pricey for how much I got. I'm not a big guy either and I was still hungry. (Been 3x)

I'm not going to fight you on that one. A club sandwich combo shouldn't cost nearly $15.

What's the story with the ownership change?

All I know is that someone hired away the guy who was the main guy behind the meats, but I'd say they haven't lost a step since he left. It was all great

The Cubano at CP is absolutely delicious. I've tried the Club and it was dry & tasteless, and the gumbo was very bland.

But that Cubano is worth the trip.

I didn't hear about the ownership change. What all happened? Any link to the discussion over it?

Was it an owner or employee who left? Hard to believe an owner would spend all of that time and money starting it up and then jump ship.

that's the combo, and I added cheese. I was just bummed I had to add cheese to a club sandwich. and maybe she actually did charge me for the cookie? I didn't ask for it, she just gave it to me as I was making my drink

It seems like too lucrative of an opportunity for them not to be, though I'm not positive

get the cubano. the french dip is also great. they had some pretty decent tomato basil soup last time i was there. prices are a tad high, but i guess that goes into the quality of the meat and the location.

$15 for a club sandwich? Club sandwiches are basic and boring... Never had one better than another. Im sure it was fine, how can u screw that up? No offense OP, but a review about a club sandwich bein good wont get me to go anywhere.

Search for thread. Owners and employees swapped. Steve Hightowers group bought out the original guys ... The man behind the meats left as well.

I really want this place to do well, regardless of who owns it.... We need more joints like this in BR
