I just got back home after about 6 months and there are mole tunnels all over my back yard. They're everywhere. What's the best way to get rid of them?

I figure I need to kill their food source but the tunnels also go to my neighbors' yards. Is there an effective poison that works, should I buy those spike traps, or is going after the food source good enough? I'm in a neighborhood do drinking and shooting them isn't an option, unfortunately. Any help is appreciated.

I've heard that lemon joy and water poured down their holes will make them emerge, so you can whack 'em. Apparently, lemon dawn or anything other than lemon joy will not work.

When I worked at a golf course I would trap them daily. Trap just inside edge of hole.

We also gassed them by running a hose from the muffler of a peice of equipment to the hole.

Those are good suggestions. There are so many tunnels and I haven't found any entry holes.

If I couldnt find a hole to check, I would pitchfork stab the whole tunnel run. (nohomo for all of that).

They're destroying my yard too. We've found 3 dead in our yard in the last few months. I think the neighbors cats got them

I saw some mole poison at Tractor supply that is shaped like earthworms, which is what they eat...don't know if it works, but I liked the idea and would give that a try....

There are 3 stray kittens that go in our backyard now too. They only show up early in the morning, though. I'm hesitant to get rid of them because I hope they start killing stuff. I definitely won't feed them.

Move or dynamite or concrete moat. My parents have them, they put out poison, traps and their cat catches a shite ton of them. Still have moles.

I have never deal with moles but wouldn't sticking a hose in a hole and turning on water flood them out? Then, pew pew.

Castor oil down the tunnels. Gives them a belly ache and keeps them out but needs to be reapplied frequently.

This might be worth a try to. It looks like I'll try different things over the next week or two and hope for the best. I have a feeling I'll be dealing with this for a while.

Get a bunch of five gallon buckets, fill them with ant nests, then shovel them over all the holes.

Don't ask me to help with your new ant problem though

Sell the house and move.... I had moles at my last house, tried poison and all types of traps. None worked. I got home from working nights one morning with a case of beer ice down. Use two water hoses and tried to drown them out with shotgun in hand. Got some weird looks from people passing by; middle of my driveway; sitting on ice best drinking beer, shotgun in hand at 7:00 am......
Still had mole problems when I sold the house..... Damn moles!!!!

Go to tractor supply or lowes or any feed store, they make a poison that looks like a stick of dynamite. You slide it in the hole and light it and it makes a poison smoke that fill the tunnels with toxic gas and kills the moles. It's THAT simple and works well!
