Ok so my wife and I are going to Napa next week and have a pretty full itinerary. I have an open slot for lunch and wanted to decide between Bouchon or Mustard's Grill (or any other suggestions). What says FDB?

Sorry, already having a meal at Bottega, Bistro Jeanty, Auberge, Addendum, Etoile and Redd. Anything outside of those?

I'd go to Bouchon.

If you don't already have a reservation for Bouchon, you might be SOL. If you want a laid back, less expensive option, I recommend The Fatted Calf in downtown Napa.

Bouchon is the better of the two restaurants

Lunch should be laid back. Zuzu's for tapas was good...at least 9 years ago when I was there.

You can't go wrong either one. I'd suggest Cook in St Helena or Goose and Gander also in St Helena. Both great places. Cook is very small so I'd suggest a reservation.

Go to downtown Sonoma. Watch them make some cheese, grab a sandwich and eat outside in the town square. Enjoy.

I was never disappointed with Cindy's backstreet kitchen. That was my favorite place when I was working at the hospital there. Rutherford's grill was awesome, too.

Totally ignorant of the area.

But what about the place in Sideways? Where Giamatti meets "Myra". Hitching Post in movie, but is that its real name?

And is it even nearby? It was on food network once and I just love their grill that they use.

Went there last year and really enjoyed it, but several folks on here have had so-so experiences. Great puttanesca.
