I would like to transfer my iTunes library (1400+ songs) from my old laptop onto my new laptop. Anyone on here done that before?

How do I go about doing so?

Thank you

Transfer them all to an external hard drive, then from said extern hard drive to your new computer.

Or put both boxes on the same network, share the directory that contains the library and copy to the new machine.

This sounds both easier and severely more complicated than my suggestion

Isn't there a single .lib file or I think, .itb or some shite...and you can just copy that one file over right?

that will give you all the meta data but won't include the songs. you would need to copy over your library too.

Turn on home sharing when you download iTunes on new laptop?

I have mine in an external hard drive.
