FFS, we better get a team for the SouthEast that isn't in Florida. I NEED a team to cheer for and call my own!

Not a shock, they already have a stadium that can be expanded.

So do you guys think we will stop at 24 or that expansion will continue in the future?

Man how I wish the League could buy Chivas and rebrand them to either Atlanta or Minneapolis (whichever one doesn't get the 24th team), or St. Louis, I suppose.

24 is a good number for now. It will be too diluted after that.

Give it 10 years, then reassess

I love to have enough teams to have two leagues and start a relegation process. But that's not coming for a while.

I say they go to thirty, and when we're ready for it, drop the bottom ten into tier 2 and draft up the best 10 NASL teams to tier 2?

Time we get some relegation going on here.

So what's 24 then, Nashville, Minneapolis, St. Louis?

Relegation will never, ever work in America.

Don't ruin my dream. I'm aware that it'll never happen. Any league owned/run by the collective team owners will never vote for a possibility of any of them losing out on their investment.

Well, that's just the thing. Relegation in most nations was done because at the grassroots level (this is key...) there were simply too many clubs wanting to compete so there needed to be multiple divisions. It was simply a solution to a problem, nothing more. A problem we don't have and never will (due to already having set divisions). Relegation isn't something you retroactively implement.

San Antonio is a great city. Will be a nice environment for an MLS team.

Atlanta will be 23...in the same Q/A he said they were close to finalizing Atlanta, but they won't rush it due to the stadium not being ready until 2017...San Antonio may be 24 but they won't be a slam dunk as Minnesota is high on Garber's list. He spoke very highly of the Minnesota United group.

Add that on top of the size of America and it's almost impossible. The clubs in lower levels would never be able to financially support traveling long distances for matches. If there ever was a relegation system, then there would have to be divisions for the lower levels so they could stay in relatively a close geographical area.

Although even doing this would be hard to work out how those smaller clubs would go up.

I have come to accept that St Louis will never get an MLS team.

Makes me very sad.

True. The Seattle/Portland "derby" is still between two cities that are further away from each other than pretty much any two BPL clubs, for example.
