Fox News' coverage of the Russia/Ukraine conflict is PATHETIC.

Zero context of the conflict reported in terms of history, culture, Russian/Ukraine politics, geography, energy infrastructure, etc. Nothing pertinent to the current situation.

This is the extent of their coverage:

1.) Drag out the typical neocons like McCain, Peters, Bolton and North and let them tell us how bad arse Putin is and how much of a pussy Obama is.

2.) Run the Palin and Romney "I told you so" points on Russia as a geopolitical foe from the 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns in a constant loop.

That it. That's all Fox News is reporting.

Oh, I do take a little bit of that back. Laura Ingram in her spot on Fox tried to delve into the history, nationalism and energy infrastructure of the conflict but she kept getting interrupted by the frat boys and sorority sister to talk about how Palin and Romney pawned Obama. So credit Laura for trying to dig a little deeper despite the rest of the shallowness at Fox News.

I just had it on while helping get my kids ready for school this morning. I'm normally working but my flight to Houston this morning was canceled.

I tuned in with the intention of getting a little educated about the current situation, but to no avail.

IMHO Fox has the best coverage of domestic issues and politics but its international coverage sucks. CNN has pretty good international coverage but its domestic is well laughable and MSNBC is a democratic blog.

Where IS the good coverage? ABC is sticking with the Oscars, CNN is talking about some South African pseudo-celebrity that whacked his wife mixed in with race angst, MSNBC is focusing in breathless tones on why Republicans suck, and NBC and CBS are a joke. It's not like Fox is somehow alone in this.

"Fox NEWS" is an oxymoron.

They do NOT report the news.

I felt like you yesterday driving home after my appointments in the brand new luxury vehicle that contains every mobile media and accoutremant of comfort known to man (leans back, feels satisfied, briefly considers how awesome I am). O'Reilly was being so pompous I couldn't stand it, CNN was doing the Oscar Pastrorious trial, and lo and behold Rachel Maddow of all people was having a thoughtful discussion about Ukranian history. I was all like and then I was like and then I was like .
