Sucks that it came to that, but our operations were consolidated out of state and I would have had the opportunity to go but I can't leave my son. No decision to be made in that regard.

I'm retained for the next 3 months, so it's not as bad as it could have been but still doesn't make it easy.

Who's been through similar times? How did it all work out in the end?

Good that you get to keep your income while looking, etc.

Are you a skilled in something?

Screw it. You can find another job. I wouldn't leave my boy, either.

Those who think the economy has improved to what it was ten years ago is sorely mistaken.

I got laid off about 5 years ago. Thought it was the end of the world. A month later I found a job with much better pay and I'm much happier. Good luck

I assume you think that is self expanatory.

I'd love to get into consulting. Had to turn down one of the Big 4 in December because I'd have to be in one of the major office cities. Houston was the closest, but that's too far.

My career may not be what it could be, but my "real job" is Dad. Just have to do what I can

Some times I think people just make up ridiculous sounding titles.

Consulting is difficult to break into and make a decent living quickly.

with your background have you considered other areas of finance?

What is your educational background? How many years of work experience?

Also, Healthcare Revenue Cycle Executive may make sense on a resume, but no one here knows wtf that is.
