I know Stacy is because she helped me out with a few questions I had several months ago. I'm pretty sure Stout either is or has some connection to it.

I trained with the Building Inspection Institute out of NOLA several years ago. Passed my tests, got my license, and then decided the business wasn't for me.
The business itself is much like real estate, in that you can't expect to make much of a living off of it for a period of years. Generally speaking, the good inspectors put on a good presentation and make buyers comfortable. There is so much that they CAN'T legally do that it's frustrating. Liability insurance is a HUGE portion of the costs of being in business. Most inspectors have been sued at some point.
