Has anyone else gotten around to watching this documentary? I've seen better documentaries, but I thought it was okay.

It's really a shame that he never made it to the NBA. He was just as good if not better than Lebron and Carmelo. I was fighting back tears towards the end of the film.

The harsh truth is that for one Lebron, and I don't say this to be condescending to Cooke, there are 1,000 Lenny Cooke's who will never achieve what they believe they are destined to achieve.

I generally agree with that. But Cooke was rated higher than Lebron and Carmelo at one point. He fricked up by declaring for the '02 draft out of high school.

Had he gone to college for a year or two, he probably would have made it to the league. But now, he's overweight and living in a trailer. Just sad.

You're exactly right. When he went undrafted in 2002 he should have opted to take one of the college offers he had in his back pocket.

The documentary is a poignant cautionary tale for other young men who have Lenny's talent and believe the NBA is their only future.
