Just looking back to last year to see how long it was before we got our 3rd loss now that we are at 2 this year. 33-2 to start the season last year. That is phenomenal. Here's to a 24-0 stretch to try to match the 33-2 start!!!

Only matters is to get to Omaha! Regular season champs get nothing!

Gonna be tough. That 24 game stretch includes the Vandy and MSU series.

Just more of an indication of just how remarkable last year's regular season was.

True but they usually get a top 8 seed.

Last year proved that regular season record doesn't mean shite.... Check on our 2009 baseball schedule, we dropped a few before SEC play started.

I think this season will prove to all of us how special last year's season was.

After all, headed to Omaha last year after going through the SEC schedule, the SEC tournament, a regional and a super-regional featuring a first round draft pick pitcher in the first game with still only single digit losses (9) is unheard of these days.

The rantards yesterday were out in full force. They do not realize that baseball is not like football. The best team loses in baseball...ALOT.

Granted the loss yesterday was a really bad loss. Not really any way to spin it except saying that it was a really bad loss in early march. Those losses happen a decent amount in CBB.

Here are the record break downs in CWS championship seasons:

1991
55-18

1993
53-17-1

1996
52-15

1997
57-13

2000
53-17
Lost 5 games in a row. Swept at home by Houston (granted finished the season ranked #11). Also went 0-2 vs McNeese

2009
56-17
Lost weekend series to Illinois who did not make postseason. Also lost to ULL and Nicholls.

But the common trait between all those teams are that they improved as the season went along and were playing extremely well at the end of the season. I would take 17 losses in a heartbeat this season if that means we are hot at the end of the year. But of course that means 17 unbearable rantard days...

This.

Signed, the 1989 Aggies (58-7 after getting bounced by the Tigers in the regional)

That was the greatest start in LSU baseball history and it will be a while before it happens again.

The goal this year is to finish top 2 in the SEC that gives us a chance to get a top 8.

Other than winning a lot of games, I think it is important to be close in the games that you lose.

I know they like scheduling Ive League series but LSU fans deserve more during non conference scheduling. SEC play is really all that matters. If your not good enough to get it done during sec play you won't win in Omaha. Tinkering Paul will figure it out by Vandy weekend and Mardi Gras weekend is always good for one mail in game since players probably were out too late Sat night after that game.

What do LSU fans do to deserve that?

and lost their last two in Omaha

I'm not trying to start shite, but what I am saying is it doesn't matter how you are playing at the start, just at the end

As long as we don't completely tank i really don't care what we do early in the season so long as we have at least a .700 or greater winning percentage

Ok, well maybe they "something" but like others have said I rather get hot later in the year. I feel last year we peaked early!

I somewhat feel the same, but I took it more as we were hot for so long it just become harder and harder to maintain. Then add a few of our key hitters went cold at the wrong moment...

This year it looks like LSU will have to scrap it out. I am fine with that.
