According to the IAAF Track and Field Facilities Manual 2008, the type of sand used for the long jump landing area is washed river sand with 0 to 2 mm graining, no organic components, maximum 5% of weight up to 0.20 mm.

Usually what I do, but have a max of 3% on weight. I hold my pit sand to a slightly higher standard. Some may call it hubris, but so be it.

So I call up the sand place and tell them I want washed river sand with 0 to 2 mm graining, no organic components, maximum 3-5% of weight up to .20 mm?

Call a concrete company and get them to deliver some mason sand. If somebody starts bitching about it after landing in it tell them that it's washed river sand with 0 to 2 mm graining, no organic components, maximum 3-5% of weight up to .20 mm. Then tell em to eat a dick.

For whatever reason high school administrators and parents get all bent out of shape when you tell kids to eat a dick.
Pedro I tried that with 2 company's and they weren't sure.
And Rouge, I would expect nothing less from such a true player.
