People who've done it so many times that the novelty has worn off? People who don't feel like rubbing shoulders with tourists and amateurs?

I don't see a problem with people going out of town. After 20 or 30 Mardi Gras' they all look the same. Why not go out of time if you have time off?

I'm headed home to Opelousas and Ville Platte. Personally, I don't really give a shite about Mardi Gras. I had some fun with friends Thursday evening and will probably catch a local parade in Opelousas with my family..but to me it's about spending time with family and friends, no the holiday that I care about.

Mardi Gras gets boring after a while for many. Plus Mardi Gras allows for all these annoying people to come out of the woodwork

Many people take advantage of the kids being out of school for Mardi Gras and vacation then.

Don't see the big deal. I'm sure those people still enjoy Mardi Gras but also realize it is every year and they can always go next year.

Mardi Gras is fun but there's one every single year. I love it but I got sick and I'm missing it this year. Sucks but I'm over it.
