Hard to figure. Harvard lost bad to Arkansas. It just so happens thet Harvards pitcher is from Slidel. She was 0-2 I think before this gem. Went the distance with over 175 pitches.

They didn't come to play and thought they could turn it on. Had a runner on 2nd with no outs 5 times from the 7th inning on. In the 7th they got the 3 outs in 4 pitches.

There are a lot better pitchers in the SEC than the girl from Harvard if LSU can't score a run in 12 innings against her, maybe the eighth place finish was accurate.

Oh good Lord, here we go. shite happens sometimes. saintsfan mentioned earlier that they got runners on second with no outs like seven times.

We're young so I really don't have much expectations. Softball is all about pitching, and Czechner is a great #2 but not an ace. Corbello, Selman, and soon to be Walljasper could end up being LSU's best staff ever down the road.

And the hitting has still improved substantially and will get better

Ok that answers my question about the schedule due to the late finish of the arrgh Harvard game.
They are going ahead with playing J. State tonight and Iowa St. and Lamar tomorrow.

Selman throws a no hitter against Jackson St., and Tiger bats come alive:

"While Selman (2-0) kept the JSU hitters at bay for the length of the game, the LSU offense came to life to aid the pitcher and pounded out all eight runs on 12 hits as seven different Tiger batters earned at least one on the night. Bell and Andrews led the way with Bell going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and three runs scored, while Andrews went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two stolen bases."

“We were flat the first game,” Bell said “We told each other to get on the fence and cheer on your teammates no matter how many outs we had. It doesn’t matter how we are doing. Stay in the game and stay motivated to get through the day.”

Lady Tigers beat Jackson State 8-0
Selman throws no hitter. She walks one, strikes out nine on 76 pitches thrown.

Yes I did which makes a loss to Harvard mind boggling. They proved they were capable of hitting pitchers and scoring runs against Washington and Stanford but sink to the occasion against Harvard and can't execute with runners in scoring position.
Again, this is all in preparation for the SEC, and Harvard is no where near SEC caliber and a loss to them at home is inexcusable regardless of the classification of the players out on the field.

Which means it's an aberration not worth getting your knickers in a knot over.

Hardly an aberration. Loss to Texas, which has gone on to have a losing record since leaving Baton Rouge, loss to Penn State and Harvard are symptoms of a potentially bigger problem if they don't get it figured out before conference play.
