Payday is on the first, or the last business day before the first. This particular credit company that I pay for my son's braces with usually has a payment due date of the third or fourth of the month. Last month the payment due date was the second, which happened to be a Sunday. I pay my bills online, and if you put it in on Friday, it posts on Monday. If you can't see where this is going, the payment posted on the third last month (Monday) and these bitches tag me with a $25 late fee. This month, the second is a Sunday again and, guess what, yeah, that's the due date. It's obvious that they are setting people up with this. Is there anything illegal about it? Would they refund it if I called and complained?

They might refund it, which company?

If it is a decent CC company you should be able to get them to permanently move your date forward so it hits a little later.

They don't let you set your own payment date? A lot of them do.

Problem solved. I'd be pissed too FWIW.

That seems messed up. Every credit card company that I deal with states that if you pay online on your due date and that date is a Sunday, it counts as "on time".

Calling and complaining should get them to reverse the charge but, going forward, pay it on a weekday, I guess.

Why are you waiting till the last possible day to make a payment? Schedule the payment a few days before it's due and your problem will be solved.

You must be OT Ballers. Sometimes money's too tight to mention and I actually have to wait until payday (Friday) to pay the bill. I'm not that stupid.

At the very least, pay the minimum a couple of days early so you avoid the late charge.

If you pay it on Thursday after 3pm, it isn't clearing your bank that night.

Ummm, kid's braces financed on it. It's called Care Credit, which I assume GE owns.

Must've been tl;dr?

Are you receiving a special promotional interest rate?

If not, you're playing with fire. You are going to get burned.

Anyway, not looking for sympathy. Wondering if this is an ethical, or legal practice.

Even if he is, he better get the late fee problem solved because they can immediately switch him to the regular interest rate for being late on a payment.

Well, this is the O-T Lounge. Maybe you should post on the soccer or music board?
