Lol. I was just cutting my teeth back then. Remember slamming dollar shots of three wise men and then projectile vomiting into the urinal and never missed a beat

Should be illegal for them to sell liquor that cheap to 18 year olds.

So true. Amazing more kids didn't die in drunk wrecks. Only by the grace of God

I witnessed a murder there on Mardi Gras day, 1995 (or 96). The bouncer beat down a drunken guy and threw him out of the club. He was humiliated and went to his car, got a gun, went back to the entrance and before the other bouncers could jump him as he drew his gun, he shot and killed the bouncer who'd kicked him out.

I only heard the shot, but I saw the guy fall to the ground, people scatter and the other bouncers wresting the gunman to the ground. It was pretty horrifying.

I love that these threads pop up every now and then... Reminds me of all the things I did under the influence on the strip. Winning the jellyfish eating contest at NiteCaps was a proud achievement... We all had a bowl sized Jell-O shot made with everclear with cold spaghetti noodles coming out of the side. I scarfed that thing down and won a box o' liquor and Jell-O shots... Good times!

It was so much easier when I moved in at the Townhouse III apts. on Gen. Gardner. Walking distance to the strip and 237 steps from my front door to The Bulldog!

Hell yes

I remember getting wasted there. It was a meat/meet market. Got in a fight or two. Almost got laid a time or two. Couldn't convince the girls to come to gueydan, but have some great memories.

My dad was the manager of the keg back in the 70's. as fun as it was for me, I can only imagine what it was like for pops.

Mako's. Sadly, it didn't seem to disrupt Mardi Gras. Gotta love the party mentality.

I remember that era very well. In fact I remember the guy that was killed, as I remember him from working out at Red's. Guy was Brian somethingor other.

The guy that shot him was young? Anyone have a link to the article somewhere online?
