re: Yet another black eye for Louisiana - judicial impartialityPosted by ragincajun03 on 2/27/14 at 4:10 pm to udtiger
AG Caldwell needs to go. Just hope another non-leftist challenger, not Jeff Landry, pops up to run.
I am appalled that Janice Clark remains on the bench. She was the judge when the state expropriated my property downtown while at the same time lobbying the defendants (State Buildings and Grounds) for the construction of the new courthouse. When my attorney and I walked into a settlement conference in the middle of the trial, she was busy schmoozing with the opposition. The woman isn't fit to be on the bench although in that regard she certainly isn't alone in Baton Rouge.

Glad to see you're not looking at this through political ideology glasses, because lots of lefties are sure to run to her defense as they are hoping she'll rule against the oil and gas industry in LA.

These weren't the lawyers. It was with the defendants who had the yea-or-nay say over the building of her palatial new courthouse. She apparently doesn't understand what ex parte means. It was a setup from the time we walked into her courtroom.

Oh, Janice Clark who held up the incorporation of Central. She said she wasn't sure that a place that had a majority of white's could incorporate legally.
It was in an interview in the Advocate.

Can't be impeached. Could be removed by Judicial Commission/Louisiana Supreme Court, but if she hasn't by this point, it is never going to happen.
So how did she become a Judge? Anyone curious about that?
She sued the State to make them create her a subdistrict.
Basically creating the job that she still holds by lawsuit.

Clark is as bad as any of the worst judges who sit in CDC in N.O. The plaintiff bar loves her & its memembers are among her biggest $$$ supporters. She wins re-election yr after yr because of her district's population base.
