Recent interview with Grant Newsome on Tigerbait sounds good for LSU.

He likes Grimes, Miles, and the LSU tradition (says he is a big college football and has grown up watching LSU football on national TV).

Grant Newsome and Drew Richmond are my two favorites at the tackle position, both have serious NFL potential.

was just reading jimmy smiths nifty 50 for 2015 and he has 6 o-linemen in his top 50 Louisiana recruits for 2015. This is the order he ranked the OL recruits:
1. Jerry Tillery - Evangel
2. Garret Thomas - Many
3. Oshea Dugas - Northside
4. Kameron Eloph- Parkway
5. Grant Burgullos-Mandeville
6. Adrian Magee- Franklinton

let them come to camp, then offer all those guys if they show well at camp and start loading up this class with linemen. Looks like a whole lot of instate talent for the o-line this year.

Little surprised at this and the LSU coaches obviously see it differently.

If the o-line recruiting goes like I see it possibly unfolding, LSU could end up with 6 o-line signees for 2015 - none of them from Louisiana.

It's a brave new world...

take 6 this year just to catch up a little, then 4-5 every year thereafter

offensive side of ball looks crowded. 6 ol, incl. te, already taking 4 rbs (incl. merritt)

ol- 6
rb -4
qb - 1
wr - 3-4

thats too many on offensive side of ball.

Don't forget we can sign 27 this year. I would count meritt as an athlete, and think we only take Guice and brossette as rbs. I think Merritt would make a great scat 3rd down back, or motion back.

That would be 13 or 14 on offense with the other 12 to 14 on defense. Seems very balanced and we definitely need to load up on ot's. after that we need lb's, cb's, and dt's IMO.

I'm looking forward to seeing which lb's we recruit as I haven't heard much on that front and it will be a Position of need especially if beckwith stays at de, and m jones as FB.

Agree but only see 1-2 spots that aren't needed
Need 1 qb
Need 2 pure rbs and 1 fb
Need at least 3 wrs
Need as many top end OL as we can get. At least 5

Rb and qb are easy
Wr will easily get 3. The issue is who and how many over 3 do we go
Don't think we will have issues getting 6-7 OL. The problem is that the state is loaded but with interior guys. Only true OT in the group is Tillery. Thats what makes things so difficult to predict. How many interior guys do we take and which ones? Very suprised with the Magee offer. Hes talentes but do we know he's bettee than the kids he's competing with for offers? I'd have him 3rd in the order at best behind Thomas and Ford maybe even Burgillos. Gonna be interesting.

Agreed about Magee. I was under the impression that he doesn't yet have an offer and will have to earn it in camp. I think Oshea dugas could be an ot, and may earn his offer in camp

i was under the impression merritt was a all-purpose back and ducre was a fullback. add in brossette and guice and you get 4. don't see how we take less than 3 wrs.

so the offensive side of ball is looking like 14, add a long snapper and that leaves 12 max for defense (out of possible 27)

That still fills our needs

4to 5 dl
3 CBS
1 s
3 to 4 lbs

11 to 13 on the defensive side

Merrit looks like an athlete that could line up on either side of the ball

I look for LSU to go for like 27 this coming year and let 2 early enrollees to count back against this signing class of 23.

I actually think we might sign more than 27, having several EE's. This senior class is big and we have a few players who already have their degrees. Plus their will be a few others who transfer

right now we only have room for 2 early entries. Took 23 this class but if some don't show up it would open up room for more.

We only have room for 2 early entries that can count back. While not certain, seems like we can have more EE's that count toward 2015's 25. The total of 27 is the limit unless grey shirts are given (early 2016 entries) and the 85 cap is never topped.

Drew Richmond has a list of eleven schools: Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Tennessee, LSU, Ohio State, UCLA, Florida State, Clemson, North Carolina, and Memphis.

He mentions Frank Herron, Grimes, and the depth chart as positives about LSU.

He will announce on Sept. 9
