No one wants a prima donna punter

Because he's a douche bag and NFL teams won't put up with a douche bag just because he can punt.

Turnover at the position is extremely low and no one will put up with a problem child at punter.

Because punters and kickers are competing against the best of the best for the past 10/15 years. That's why.

It's hard to secure those spots because once a team identifies the best ones, they normally have pretty long careers.

There's 32 jobs for punters in the NFL and they are all really really good at what they do. It's not easy to break into the league as a punter.

Like he did not make the conditioning for the eagles, who cares if your punter can not run

First off, there are only 32 punters in the league. Its hard to get into the league as a specialists.

2nd off, hes a punter with off the field issues. A team doesnt want to sign a punter with baggage.

And every NFL punter is as good or better than he is. And not inconsistent like Wing was.

He is not consistent enough at directional punting or hangtime. Outkick your coverage = death in the NFL.

he was the most inconsistent punter i have seen on the field at LSU in 20 years. He did hit some marvelous punts, but he was automatic for at least 1 shank per game. Other than the Oregon game and the alabama game, i think overall he hurt us more than he helped us. the NFL doesnt care if you CAN hit a good punt, ot kick a long field goal, they want to make sure you can do it every time.

Well, that's just not true. In 2011 he was un-fricking-believable. You're thinking of Keehn. Last year, Keehn would boot one 55 yards and then rip off a 10-yarder 2 possessions later.

What off the field issues does he have? I just remember his taunting penalty

Suspended for a failed drug test, many rumblings about how he didn't even vaguely care about school. It's pretty well established that he didn't leave early for the pros, but more than likely wasn't going to be asked to return, nor did he care to.

He was terrible in Championship game against Bama but so was entire team. He just isn't good enough to make it in NFL. You have to be willing to work harder than anyone else unless you are just that much more talented. He's not and the feeling was he isn't going to outwork anyone either.

He had a lot of off the field issues.

LSU basically forced him to go pro or he would have been kicked off.

Lol what?

I'm not advocating that he should be on an NFL roster right now, but to say that he wasn't a very valuable weapon for us is crazy.

Exactly. Wing was All-World in 2011. Easily one of the best weapons on the team. The next year he was wildly inconsistent.

You gotta keep your nose clean to be an NFL punter though. Teams have no tolerance to put up with anyone who's not a choir boy because there are far more capable punters than there are open jobs.
