time to cut the fat

Let's just go through every team and discuss what they would give us for Jimmy. That way we can just go ahead and get all these threads out of the way.

frick yes. Give them Graham and Gronk. We get potential. Make it happen Loomis

So how exactly would the term "cutting the fat" refer to getting rid of the best TE and one of the best offensive weapons in football?

I'm on a lifelong mission to fight stupid. Can't let them win.

Indulge an old man if you will. I will tell you the story of how the idiots from the rant found their way to the quiet town of Saints Talk.
Once they were contained. A long time ago. A time long since forgotten in the minds of many men here. In late December 2009, they began to creep in. Throughout 2009 there were warning signs but they were ignored by the powers in charge of the Saints. They continued to crush and dominate the competition. And the Rant began to creep under and over the precious wall system we had built to keep them out.
In early February 2010 there was a sudden influx of rantards. It was chaos and panic however the citizens of Saints Talk were too happy to notice and the rantards began to receed quick enough.
For the next two years it seemed all would be well. Though there was some times when they would spill over the quite town of Saints Talk remained happy and protected.
Then came the fateful day which will forever live in infamy. At 8:30 pm eastern time, January 9, 2012, there was a dangerous overload on the collective psyche of the rant. Those who held themselves out as loyal followers of the rant in the good times had reached their peak. And the King Miles had a chance to conquer his subjects and keep them for life or lose them forever.
Then it happened. At approximately 11:00 pm eastern time on January 9, 2012, the bandwagon fickle mob that makes up the Rant exploded in anger. Cast out from thwir homeland desperate and alone seeking tirelessly for a new king they found Saints Talk.
It was a trying time for those men of Saints talk. Just 5 days away from the valiant battle of the Candlestick 2012, tensions were already running high.
The clash of the rantards at the worst possible time led to a deep hatred. At the conclusion of the battle at candlestick, the valient men of saints talk surveyed the field. Roman Harper and Scott Shanle, two commanders left in charge of guarding the gate from the enemy slept on the job. THe battle was lost in the final seconds when it seemed so sure that we had won.
Just when we believed things could not get worse, the viscous brutal fickle mob of bandwagoning rantards invaded and poured salt lemon and mercury into the wounds of battle.
To make matters worse may loyal members of Saints Talk Nation wounded in the battle at Candlestick had been wounded just days before in the event known as 1/9/12. And they could not escape the horrid memories as they were brought up in each meeting of Saints Talk.
That hatred remains and cannot be reconciled. The rantards now regularly regurgitate the same mantra "bring LSU to the Saints" in a desperate hope to watch the best of their team simply walk from baton rouge to new Orleans every year. The people of Saints Talk soldier on.
But i grow tired of old forgotten tales. Weary in my old age. Thus is written the tale of the Rantard riot which overcame Saints Talk and the explosive 5 days in mid january 2012 which changed these two message boards forever.

Actually this is an intriguing thread. I don't think New England will give up as much as he is worth. Based on history, I think we should trade with the Saints. Since they gave up an entire draft for Arr-Dub, we can probably swindle them for 2 full drafts for Jimmay.
Make it happen, Loomis!
