How would we perceive WWII if the Axis had won?

I was thinking about this today because I've been watching Band of Brothers. We all know history is written by the victors, the Axis are basically considered evil now.

Obviously the Holocaust was horrible and Hitler was a terrible person regardless of the outcome. But if the Axis had won how would that change our opinion of the Axis war efforts overall?

I think it's spelled hollowcost

Eta: in my opinion this is one situation where history is pretty accurate on a lot of the atrocities committed by axis powers as opposed to it all being propaganda from the victors.

Maybe something like how we view Manifest Destiny now. Or it's very possible that Hitler's model wasn't sustainable, and it would have otherwise collapsed. Or maybe Hitler would have tried to kill everything that isn't German. Who knows.

"we" wouldn't exist.

This is an impossible question. The world would be a very different place.

We would have a better appreciation for the British, cause those basterds would've fought zee Germans till the last man standing.

Stalin won. So a victory for evil was still very much involved.

But he died fewer than ten years later, so there's that.

Actually the book "The Man in The High Castle" is about this

Basically there would be Japanese occupied America from like the Mississippi to the west and German occupied America from the east of the Miss. R. At least according to that book.

And me having Jewish grandparents, I would not be typing this right now

I'm guessing the joke would have been "Was it over when the British bombed Dresden?"

There would be no reconciliation between that alternate reality and our current one. It'd be a different society, different technology, different mores, different zeitgeist. People would be in different locations under different circumstances. And yeah, even if you want to take it literally, there's a fair chance that you individually wouldn't exist.

Butterfly effect and shite. And in this case it's a nuclear butterfly
