The tyranny and Gov't intrusion into business and our personal lives continues. Thanks Obama, you know what's best for me and our children even better than us

Say Goodbye to Coca Cola ads on football scoreboards and such.

quote:

The rules would phase out the advertising of sugary drinks and junk foods around campuses and ensure that other promotions in schools are in line with health standards that apply to school foods. The rules are expected to be announced Tuesday as a part of first lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move initiative to fight child obesity.
“If you can’t sell it, you really ought not be able to market it,” said Secretary of Agriculture, Tom Vilsack.
But Secretary Vilsack admits it’s big business. He says companies spend almost $150-million dollars a year on marketing in schools. The changes would remove popular drink ads seen from school scoreboards and vending machines.

I don't agree one bit with the federal government getting involved in this but WTF are junk food ads doing in school? My kids go to public schools here in GA and there are no junk food or junk food ads in their schools.

Maybe now we will finally be able to get rid of the coke and MC Donald's adds on the NEZ screen

Most schools couldn't even afford to have a scoreboard without coke

That's what happens when you elect a true believer in central planning; you get your lives centrally planned for you.

You deserve it, America. Smoke the whole pack.

Yup... Our high school had offers for years for coke to pay for lights on our baseball field but the principal didn't want ads on the outfield fence. As soon as he resigned, those lights went up and things improved drastically.... Too bad I was gone by that point.

This is why you never give in to Progressives.

First it started with cigarette advertising. "Oh, it's for the safety of the children". Now it's junk food. Pretty soon they'll tax the shite out of fast food restaurants.

Same with any other issue..give them expanded background checks and next they'll want to ban certain guns, etc.

Give them gay marriage and next it'll be legalize incest and beastiality. THEY NEVER STOP. Nothing is enough for them.

It doesn't all happen at once. Our freedoms and values are slowly eroded little by little and we accept the petty justification for it until one day we will wake and America as we once knew it will be gone.

To be fair, she announced the new proposed rules. You know damn well that the bureaucracy that the Obama Admin. controls will put this through though.

Ummmm, I don't recall the First Lady receiving a single vote from any citizen. How in the hell can she simply decree that anything be done?

Screw her. I hope some schools have double-sized ads on their scoreboards next fall just to thumb their noses at her and her kind.

What's next? No Cokes at the concession stand unless you're over 18? No more Sugar Babies, M&Ms and other candy at the game?

"Hey guys, I'm going to the concession stand. Anybody else want a Nature Valley granola bar and some refreshing mineral water?"

Odrama and his henchmen will just roll out the tried and true thug move, "if your state doesn't comply we will withhold education funding from your state".

Dumb bastards will love it.
