Game of Arms - Series premiere tonight at 9 p.m. on AMC

Yup... another reality show. This show focuses on competitive arm wrestling and has a group from Louisiana/Baton Rouge called the Roughnecks. One of them is my cousin. Since I haven't watched the show or know any of the details, I'll pass on saying which one!

A reality show on AMC? fricking hell I was hoping they wouldn't stoop to this. I guess good shows coming on cable will soon be a thing of the past.

It does seem strange that most, if not all, of the really good shows are on pay channels like HBO, Showtime, etc.
BTW, from the limited conversations I have had with my cousin and other family members, the prize money can get up there... but you'd still make more if you were a decent poker player.

Now if it's a hit?
Then it's time to worry about the future of AMC programming since they seem to be too scared to try new scripted IPs and would rather do spin off shows of Breaking Bad and Walking Dead.

Realistically, if a company that has these properties under its umbrella can't come up with good ideas for original shows and movies... we are in bad shape!

From what I have gathered, it will be the typical run of the mill reality show glorifying excess and bad behavior while somewhat focusing on arm wrestling as a sport.
ETA: I am proud to say I don't watch reality TV, but because I have a family member on it, I will break the rule this once. Pretty sure I will regret it...
