When you open a loaf of bread

Do you skip the heel piece until the end?, do you throw it out with the bread bag?, or do you treat it like any other slice of bread?

It's my favorite part.
ETA: I eat it immediately.

Go right past it to the 3rd or 4th piece

I give the end pieces to my dog

This followed by the twist and tuck.

I keep it as a bookend to fend off the other pieces from the riff-raff

Heel stays in the loaf until it goes into the trash.

Who uses regular bread these days?
Sandwich flats are where it's at!

This, then throw out. If you eat the heel first the loaf will get stale quicker. Also you must twist and tuck the wrapper.

I save them up in one bag for the month and at the end of the month I give them to the guy that lives under the overpass down the street. I get a good feeling when I do my part to help people less fortunate.

Keep it in & just go past it. I like to think it acts as a freshness barrier.

I like the end pieces, my only complaint is that many companies slice them extra thin so that there's almost no point.

I like the ends on French bread but not the loaf

The End pieces are only good for fold overs
