Legal shield question?

I've dealt with similar companies as a lawyer. I provided criminal defense for their clients. They keep a roster of lawyers in different locations and practice areas. No idea what the client paid for that coverage so can't say if it was worth it or not for the client. I liked it bc although my fee was less, I was paid by the insurer instead of the client and the cases were always minor--traffic or misdemeanors.
