Beast mode.

I don't care really, I'm just thankful these teams/SF/etc. guys exist and are generally on our side.

Not by taking drugs that cause respiratory failure.

Super secret soldier serum. Also a drug called PROVIGIL or NUVIGIL.

I was watching a documentary on these guys who went through Ranger School. They did things to stay awake like chew on coffee beans and put tobasco sauce in their eyes. Crazy stuff.

They literally try to starve you during ranger training. Crazy.

It's probably for this reason I wouldn't survive Ranger School. I'm completely useless if I don't eat, and I get extremely cranky.

You won't like me when I'm hungry (hangry)

I am a terrible human being when I'm starving. Conversely, when I'm stuffed full of a steak and mashed potatoes I'm Ghandi-level nice.

Don't worry, if you beat the starvation and are at the top of your class, you get invited to the 18 month SF school.

They get starved AND tortured in training. fricking nuts.

And fwiw you are allowed to have no more than one leg broken during this.

This. Also in BUDS they drown you and have paramedics on site to immediately resuscitate you after you have flat lined.

ETA: BUDS is Navy SEAL school. My little brothers friend just finished and afterwards he got the letter that had already been written to his parents about him drowning during training.

The two guys I know who have gone through Ranger school both got recycled for injuries. One may have gotten hurt twice.

That's the part that would suck worst, I'd think.

They get small naps and breaks in training. Go read Lone Survivor, Marcus luttrell does a pretty good job of detailing it.
