Called to bitch and they won't lower bill without signing a contract. Do other providers make you sign contracts now? I've had Cox for 10 years and never had a contract.

People complain about U Verse, and Cox. They also complain about direct tv and Dish. No one is happy with tv these days.

I did the contract thing with coz recently to keep my rates. It's only like 2 bucks a month for the remainder of the contract to opt out, so it's not shite. Make sure you confirm that amount with them.
At least it's not an outrageous amount like the satellite companies.

Oh and I've never had to sign anything. They confirm everything over the phone.

Cancel your cable/satellite TV...best thing I ever did.

Cable and Internet are becoming the new monopolies. We pay more than Europe for much shittier service because of the lack of competition.

Im dropping Cox by the end of the week for the Roku 3

I only have Internet and they just increased my monthly service to 62.99/mth. A complete raping.

Screw cox. I went to Uverse and could not be any happier. All channels, 3 wireless HD recording boxes and fast internet. $133 per month

I switched to DirecTV last week and I absolutely love it. I didn't lose my signal when the storms passed through, either.
Let me know if you want to switch and we can get a discount.
ETA: I kept Cox interwebs, but I'm going to switch to Eatel. frick Cox.

Cox trying to make up for increased data usage that they don't bill for? Husband got email that we were way over on data usage. Cox site says they don't bill for the excess but can move up to a larger package. How stupid is that? I didn't know there was a limit, but that's me. I can't believe we pay $200+/month for cable tv and internet.
ETA: I remember the good old days in New Orleans when we had for channels, 4, 6, 8 and 13 and didn't have a problem finding something to watch.

R U serious, Clark?

That is the norm now with cox. They recently stopped lowering rates even if you call to complain. Have to sign contract

Watch yourself, pawl. I'm very happy with tv.

Did you call and get that price? when I do that online it is more expensive than 133 dollars.

I've had the 50GB internet only and it was around 65 I believe and just upped it to like 74 or so. Still bad to me considering the other option was satellite which would have been outrageous for extremely shitty service
I've also been hearing a lot of people getting notices about "going over their limit." I've never received anything like that and blows my mind how you could. You pay for a speed, not a data amount.

We have been contemplating switching to eatel for awhile because of the high rates with cox. Being in ascension eatel is our next best option. Are they better, worse, cheaper?
