Will do. I've been deep into the old stuff for a while, anything from Duke and Ray Brown to Stanley Clark with Chic and John McLaughlin, and into Keith Jarrett with a good measure of Headhunters thrown in.

I play a good bit of jazz gigs so anything to turn my ears up a notch is good.

Keith Jarrett is a god. Paris Concert is a seminal recording.

Wes Montgomery is my favorite jazz player. Maybe my favorite guitar player of all time.

You ever listen to Bill Frissell or Pat Matheney?

Wes is a badass. I'm also big on Kenny Burrell. Frissell's melodies are amazing, but the intonation on his guitars drives me crazy. Metheney is arguably one of the most prolific jazz composers of the 20th century. His discography is ridiculous. For newer fare, some of the stuff he's done with Richard Bona is sick.

I'm an upright and fretless guy primarily.

I was going to throw out some Est LINK and some Aaron Parks as well LINK. The Aaron Parks stuff is great for lovers of Frissell, as well as another guitarist's name who slips my mind.

Eta: Was checking out the Asheville Snarky Puppy vids. Pretty fricking amazing. Does the Bassman always use an octaver or have I had too much to drink. Regardless, dude's got serious pocket.
