They make some damn good smoke boudin and great cracklin. I mostly hear about Don's but not much on Best Stop Anyone else care to share opinions?

See the similar thread. Their smoked is good, but they microwave it to order. Billy's smoked is better. I do like their cracklins and fresh meats in the fridge section.

Best Stop is called that for a reason. I don't get the smoked cuz the regular is great. Billy's has good boudin too. Don's. Meh.

Best stop is my favorite for boudin and jerky. I haven't found my fave cracklin due to lack of consistency across the board.

I've never had anything bad from them. Their boudin is just a tad more spicy than I like but still good. The best thing they make to me is their beef jerky. I don like the smoked boudin as well, tends to mellow out the spice a little.

Ironic that there's a thread on this today. I moved to Lafayette a couple months back for work and was talking to my BIL yesterday and he suggested I go to best stop and get the smoked boudin. When you guys say Billy's, are y'all talking about the place off of I-49 towards Opelousas. Billy's and Rays or something? I've had some from there and it's really good as well. I believe it was the hot kind so it must've been Billy's

We are referring to billys in scott off of exit 97. However, the place in opelousas you are talking about does sell the same boudin. It does however also sell rays boudin. You have to clarify that you want billys.

If ur ever on 190, stop at Billys Texaco in Krotz Springs and get u a boudin ball. Maybe one stuffed with pepperjack to try. Then go to Bourques in Port Barre and get some cold boudin from the lady at the butcher counter.
