learn, memorize, and be able to apply all the formulas for the individual chapter tests and then for the midterm and final?

Edit: Just to clarify, I don't think it is unreasonable at all.

Not unless the tenth grader in question is an idiot.

In some cases, even if the formulas were given to some of the students, they would still find a way to get the problem wrong.

What you laughing at I missed problems when formulas were given on tests?

Didn't always pick the right one. Geez these OTers are out of control

Geometry in 10th grade? I did that shite in like 8th. I was doing trig and pre-cal in 10th.

But yes a 10th grader should definitely be able to do that.

So if, for example, the directions said "Find the area of the triangle and use the formula '1/2*(base * height)'", you would pick a different formula because you thought the directions were wrong or lying to you?

Probably so, depending on number and complexity expecting kids to recall in December 15 formulas including 4 learned in September is a bit much

The test I used to take had all formulas at top. As you took the test you would just look at the given formulas and choose the one that best applied to each problem. That example with the 1/2 b*h you gave was alittle easy don't you think?

How many formulas? How complicated?

Like area of triangle and pythagorean's theorem? They should know that.

I had to memorize the entire periodic table of the elements in the 11th grade, so that shite should be easy

The more we drop our education standards the dumber we become as a country.

We had to learn it so no.
