I ended up with 8 of 13 dead, had to put 5 or so out of their misery. gave 3 of the lambs that survived away and have 2 ewes left that were tore up but I think they can make it. of course they are both pregnant and not sure if they will miscarry. just a terrible scene and day.

hate seeing animals suffer for nothing.

I have a feeling it was dogs.

Get yourself a predator call and eliminate anything that responds.....

I hate to hear that. I had a dog chase one of my calves into the side of a barn causing it to break its neck. Dogs are the worst at attacking livestock. You can get a pair of donkeys and they will protect your livestock.

whatever killed them didn't eat anything? also, were they tore up, choked out, or had their necks snapped? if their necks were snapped and they have claw marks on the head/face it may be a "cat".
the lease i hunt in texas has lots of goats and sheep. the rancher showed me the difference a few times in the types of predator kills. cats teach their young how to kill on goats/sheep when available and then just leave it. like a cat playing with a toy.

Damn I hate to hear that. It sounds like dogs though. I have often thought of getting a couple great Pyrenees cause they are legit. I bought into the donkey crap and bought two. I now have about 16 worthless donkeys eating my grazing. I have seen coyote in the same pasture with them and they didn't give a crap. I killed a coyote in a pasture circling a cow with a newborn calf earlier this year (pic in the trapping thread) five donkeys share this pasture and I did not have to wait on them to get out of the way for a shot cause they were about a hundred yards away stuffing their faces with hay.

No worries there I have border collies and when they bring the cows up they bring the donkeys too a dog is just too quick to get hammered by one. If you have ever seen a donkey run you would see that they aren't the fastest animal in the world. I will say this about them though I would be kind of nervous about putting them in with sheep cause these get kind if aggressive with the cows at times. There were 17 but I caught one running and nipping at a calf and it eventually succumbed to lead poisoning.
