The actions (or inaction) of LSU just blows my mind. Down 2, you might think about jacking up a 3 for the win, but down by 1 or tied, you go to the rim and either draw a foul, or at least attempt a shot in the paint, where they are wary of fouling and putting you on the line. That is basic basketball that should have been picked up in middle school, not a coaching blunder. What the frick was he thinking putting up a 25 foot shot?

I'll say it again.

Zero IQ with this team. They basically gave UK new life.

First off, the refs wouldn't have blown the whistle for a foul against Kentucky in that situation.

Second, hickey isn't big enough to take it all the way and make a contested shot.

ETA: If we had a bigger guard, he would've attempted to take it to the rim.

Remember earlier in the year when Hickey had a chance to win, got in the lane and had his shot blocked? I don't have a problem with a 3 there from hickey when he's the only one with a threat to drive.

Just wish we would have gone straight ISO instead of picking

So you think, that the refs will call a foul on the last play when they didn't call a couple of obvious fouls on a couple of plays before? And did you not see them call a foul on Coleman on a perfect block? You are the man with the plan!

So you are saying that a 25 foot jumpshot is better than an attempted layup, or at least a drive and kick out, or pick and roll in that situation?

What if it went in? You do know that Hickey is a good 3 point shooter. You wanted him to try to force it back into to JOB again? Triple team and either a turnover or no call when he gets fouled again? you should apply for the job!

It is still a low percentage play

The last 10 second offense was pretty piss poor. If anything we wasted too much time getting the ball in scoring range.

More important to the game was the play preceding it. Coleman clean block, LSU ball. Nope, UK to FT line to tie it. bullshite. Complete and utter bullshite.

If it went in, it's still piss poor shot selection. You cannot legitimately argue that it was an intelligent shot. I'd rather a layup attempt will all five UK players playing D. At least you would have a chance of getting a called foul or kicking it out for an uncontested jump shot.

It's basketball 101. If it is tied, you penetrate and make something happen. Don't give me any bullshite about the refs.
