My back yard seems full of nothing but clover and weeds. Now that we look to be past the freeze id like to put somthing down. Any seeds that will grow right now? What about that weed and seed stuff any good?

Fake grass. Low maintenance.

And will do very well. Facility Services at LSU hated that we would plant rye grass at our fraternity house. They had to cut it all the time during the winter.

If you decide to put some cool weather seed out don't put any herbicide (the weed component of weed and feed) out there. New seed is fragile and won't react well to harsh chemicals.

My back yard looks like shite and feels like a wet sponge when I walk on it. All that freezing did a number on my yard.

Wouldn't be worth it to throw down some rye seed right now. Grass will start breaking dormancy soon and putting down seed right now would create competition between the rye and bermuda (or whatever you have in your yard).

Right now is too late. But you can plan to overseed with rye next fall.

I never seed in the spring Sod only. If you seed now the weeds and clover will choke out the grass seed. They will not be strong enough to compete
