The Austin police are nazis about jaywalking. Yet they don't do anything to stop the hundreds of panhandlers around the city.

More evidence that Austin really is not part of Texas when it comes right down to it.

A former resident told me a couple of years back that you can't even really get them to the site of a traffic accident, either. Apparently, they're "too busy".

I would take the police in Travis county over the police in Williamson county anyday though/\

Too bad the city limits are in both counties.

I've seen it done in DC too, and honestly it was needed. People would cross and stop traffic from moving, and traffic is bad enough there.

Just saw the pics. That Subway has been there since at least the late 80's, I used to eat there when I lived in that building (the Castilian).

It could have ended up much worse for her. There was a case a couple of years ago in DC where a runner did this and didn't hear the dump truck that ran her over.

And multiple times a year women get assaulted, not hearing their attackers' approach.

Don't run with music playing in your ears. Seriously, don't do this.

I wouldn't worry about BRPD.
They can barely read and write.
They also have to get out of their cars to do their job which I don't see that happening.
