Joe Dean Jr. predicted that LSU would win one on the road against either UK or UF during the Miss St. broadcast, which I suppose is possible if we show up, especially considering UF almost dropped one at home to Auburn. My question is, if we close out the season 4-1 and win one SEC Tourney game, are we in? That'll put us at 20-10 at the end of the regular season.

Not sure if that would be enough to overcome the "bad losses" we had to teams like URI, UGA, and A&M. We would probably need to win multiple games in the SEC Tourney, if not win it all, to go to the Big Dance.

I think the win would need to be Florida.

we're going to get smashed at uf and uk, i can see us pulling it out against moo st...

I don't think that will be good enough unless we make a serious run in the sec tourny

A win at UF or UK would give LSU either a season sweep of UK, or wins against UK and UF. No other team in the SEC would have such an accomplishment on their resume. Yes LSU has some bad losses, but a road win at UK or (especially) UF would probably cancel out at least 2 of those "bad" losses. The selection committee looks at who you lost to, but they really emphasize who you played in OOC, and who you beat. Win one of the two game you mentioned while finishing 4-1, then I think LSU will be very much in contention for a NCAAT spot.

guys, we've got no shot at an NCAA bid. We'll get destroyed by UK (revenge is a huge motivator, and they're at home). Absolutely no chance there.

Florida is the real deal, and cherry-picking their close win over Auburn to imply that they're beatable doesn't mean a thing. They'll handle us easily.

At the end of the season, we'll have one good win (UK) and quite a few bad losses.

No chance at the dance.

Correct. In your predict the future scenario (which I agree with) that has nothing to do with the OP's hypothetical, we have no chance.

don't let missing the tournament tarnish the season. the program is in great shape. the future is bright.

It's been said that the committee pays a lot of attention to how a team finishes the season too. A strong finish can change opinions.

Either way, we'll be lucky to get there given 2 of our last games are against UK and UF, and especially against UF we're totally outclassed. Maybe at the tournament.
Gotta take care of business against the "easier" teams though and we need that road trip at Vandy.

Always the optimist though, I think we have a breakthrough game at some point.

i feel the same, at some point this season, we're gonna do something that we're not "supposed" to do

I definitely agree that this is a possibility, but I think there are two conflicting trends to consider. One definitely is that we have played terribly on the road, but we have also played well against elite teams, although maybe not winning them all, who are NCAA Tourney shoo-ins. I think it's a possibility that our guys come out strong against UK and UF because they'll be up for those games and possibly can win one or both. It’s also very possible that we come out flat and play like we normally do on the road. This teams' major struggles in my opinion is not playing with any passion against the lesser teams that we've played, but I remain optimistic that we have it in us to play with really good teams when we decide to play hard.

I would be happy with simply not shiting the bed at ANY road game....just play a nice tightly-contested game...........................and then actually pull it out at the end!!!
