I’m in the market for 285/70r17 AT/LT tires. I have had Nitto Tera Grapplers in the past but the price has jumped recently. Trying to find a decent tire under $200/each... Is this even possible? Anyone have any good recommendations?
Thanks!

The BFG Rugged Terrain is a decent tire that's priced below their A/T. I'm not sure of the specific price, though.

Look on discount tire direct. You can probably get some coopers under 200 a tire. Maybe hankook as well. 285 are freaking expensive. At least you have 17s.

My newest ones are 265/75/16 Kumho ATs. They don't look as AT has terra grapplers but they def aren't in the street only category. I picked up 4 for ~ $112 I think. With tax and everything it came out to $488. They obviously aren't the size your looking for but I would say you could def get that size for under 200 a piece.

Oh and there newest ones, Kumho AT KL78, have a nice new aggressive shoulder on it that gives them a more AT look.

Thanks for the insight. I have looked at tire buyer and few other sites; I found several P rated tires under $200. I was looking for a heavier load and LT.

I'm doing more research on these...

Yes, These are what I'm looking for... the reviews seem good anyway.

I'm about to order a set of the Kumho Road Venture AT's in a 355/60/20. I love them, remind me of the old Remington Wide Brute which was a great tire!!!!!!!!!

Since you are in Texas swing by discount tire ...

I recently put the Discover ATP's on my truck "a cheaper tire " than what I have been running because I was thinking of maybe selling my truck soon.

So far I have been impressed with them . I think Discount is one of the only places you can find this brand of coopers

Lol sorry forgot to include Road Venture in the title, pretty key since its the in the name.

The good reviews is why I picked them up, also the good price and I just wanted a little more AT in my tire compared to my old ones.

Compared to your picture from Tire Buyer it looks like they switched to the new model tire which looks a hair more aggressive than the ones I picked up in early January.

But my reviews of them is good, they were a lil loud right off the bat, but have calmed down a bit since then. Good overall tire.

Yeah only issue is once they wear down, they don't look near as good.

I paid $800 for 285/70/17's for my Toyo A/T's. i like them alot. Had them on for 40,000 miles and still have half tread. They do well in soft ground situations, and provide a smooth ride

All of my uncles have Terra Grapplers at different stages in there life, and they look about the same. Not sexy but not fugly.

But definitely true on the BFG, an old friend had some on his older F-150 and he could literally wipe them down with some tire shine and they would look new again.

You are right about the BFG... I have debated just biting the bullet and buying these. I can always tell my wife that these were the "only" tires available!
