Such a mixture of dispair, dysfunction, and unpleasing odors. Lady across from me just took her sandal off to whomp her toddler across the butt.

I go to a commercial office that is allowed to handle DMV transactions. Haven't had to go deal with that bullshite at the DMV in probably 10 years.
Will gladly pay extra to not be around those people.

You don't 'have' to go to a certain DMV office- You can go to any office in LA. I live in Metairie, but go to the DMV in Houma (plan a day trip to visit relatives) when I need service. I've never waited longer than 10 minutes.

ETA: I like my local DMV. The lady coached me through the eye test so I don't have to have a glasses restriction on my license

There have been talks/proposals in Alabama about allowing Municipalities to handle car tags instead of the county. Maybe not all over the state, but at least here in the Birmingham metro area. I would love for there to be an office in Vestavia for me to renew mine in, instead of the downtown or Bessemer courthouses.

Does this apply to CDLs as well? Thought they had to be handled through "main" office. Would gladly go to the express if not though

Head on over to the parish health unit. Will make the dmv look like a country club.
