As I recall, someone said he was a comedian and/or a bartender elsewhere and I believe he'd been seen on another reality show.
Same with R&O's. Waitress/niece was played by an actress. That show is a hoax.

i dont know why i give these types of shows chances. i should just stick to the shows that just go to places for food and drinks. not the fix my restaurant bullshite stuff

I'd say he was hired to act a part, but wasn't successful.
I don't understand how this show stays on the air. It's obviously bogus. I noticed its page on the food network site doesn't allow comments when I first watched. I can understand why.

well shite ive seen it all. just turned off the tv and in bed. that restaurant impossible or whatever with robert irvine is on. he is all doing his bashing of the place like always and he tells the owner hey get in there you scum and make me the best two dishes you got. guy comes out with prime rib and veal marsala. irvine tastes both and it looked like someone just punched him in the dick. he mumbled umm this is pretty good. it was like he died a little inside
